
About Pavel ​ ​
Pavel Chatterjee is an Indian photographer. His passion for photography started with a Samsung Corby. Pavel Chatterjee is a self-taught photographer. He is a photojournalist in the mainstream media at the German newspaper Freies Wort (2019-Today), Outdoor Photography. Since 2014, Pavel Chatterjee has been working as a freelance photographer with a focus on documentary photography, abstract photography and image processing.
As a documentary photographer, he works on topics such as health and livelihood. He has a keen interest in photo-documenting cultures in Europe and India. In his current stories, he compares the cultures between Kolkata (also the state of West Bengal, India) and Thuringia (Germany). Apart from culture, he is also responsible for the sports section of the local newspaper in Ilmenau, Germany.
Pavel can communicate in English, German, Hindi and Bengali. His passion for photography is inspired by painting, especially the works of Salvador Dali, Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Georgia O'Keefe, etc. Apart from documentaries, he is interested in abstract art, which he tries to express in his photography and videography.
